One such writer, Pat Lane, from Mile High Report’ssister site, Pats Pulpit, scanned the spartan history of injustices against his team and somehow settled on one of the greatest plays in Champ Bailey’s career, the 99-yard non-scoring interception during the divisional round of the 2005 playoffs. Even over here in Broncos Country, we all know what the worst call in NFL history was and it pains us to say it.Just don’t tell Raiders fans we agree with them.Pat’s description of the play is entirely accurate. Tom Brady tossed an interception to Champ Bailey in the red zone and Champ ran it all the way back and had the ball knocked out of his hand at the 1-yard line. The refs called it as they saw it and the rest is history. Then Bill Belichick had the play reviewed.Being 2005, there was no pylon cam, no sideline cam, no other angles that definitively showed the ball’s location once it was knocked from 2019 Hall of Fame inductee Champ Bailey’s hands. Pat says it himself, there just isn’t a conclusive picture. Pat then goes full Zapruder, breaking down the end of the play. He carefully documents the location of the ball while completely discounting the angle of the shots. None of the photos adequately depict the ball or the goal line in relation to the sideline and goal line. The photos were taken from the roving camera-mobile thing, likely around the Patriots 15-yard line. It’s hardly an angle where a single yard can be adequately judged. While the football workouts were an important part, the retired players emphasized the value of promoting community service.“This is about building character and taking care of our home,” Crable said. “I used to run around in this neighborhood. Hall of Fame cornerback and coach Willie Brown has passed away at the age of 78.The Raiders put out the following statement on his passing.“Willie Brown will forever be cherished as a true Raider. He remained an integral part of the organization through six decades. The drama surrounding Antonio Brown does not appear to have an end.Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Brown and General Manager Mike Mayock “got into it” at practice on Wednesday and the team is planning to suspend Brown as a result.Brown posted to social media a letter from the G.M. informing him that he’d be fined for missing a practice and a walkthrough last month. Ed Donatell has been with Vic Fangio for eight seasons, spanning San Fransisco and Chicago.As Nicki’s tweet indicates, Donatell is already well acquainted with Denver’s winning culture as he won two Super Bowls as Denver’s secondary coach in 1997 and 1998 as part of a five year with Denver under Mike Shanahan.Donatell is coming off a season where he helped Vic Fangio orchestrate the number one defense in the NFL, and his secondary specifically led the charge with 27 interceptions (five for touchdowns), six more than the next closest team.As Fangio mentioned at his presser Womens Joe Flacco Jersey , he will remain the defensive play-caller, with presumably input from his longtime secondary coach, now defensive coordinator.The coaching hires keep rolling in, and this looks like another strong one for the Broncos.

It’s the time of the year that NFL teams begin making changes to their rosters to position themselves for the new league year and the free agency frenzy that arrives with it.The Broncos made their first cap-saving move yesterday by waiving WR Andre Holmes. If you’re not familiar with the name, it’s because he wasn’t a Bronco for very long. Denver claimed Holmes off of waivers from Buffalo on December 5th, in the wake of losing Emmanuel Sanders for the season. Holmes then appeared in 3 games in orange & blue and recorded one catch for 5 yards before suffering a high ankle sprain vs the Raiders in Week 16 that ended his season.Unfortunately for Holmes, in the end his biggest contribution to the 2019 Broncos ended up being the cap space they could get back by moving on from him. Holmes was set to count for $1,450,000 against the cap in 2019, but none of it was guaranteed. So the Broncos didn’t incur any dead money with this move, and increased their available cap space to around $41.5M. The Broncos signed Aaron Burbridge to a future contract yesterday, and presumably he’ll compete for a depth role or practice squad spot on the roster this summer. The 2016 6th round pick for the San Francisco 49ers spent last season on the Niners’ practice squad after missing the entire 2017 season due to a badly timed hamstring injury. In his rookie year, the former Michigan State Spartan recorded 7 receptions for 88 yards in 3 starts, and was active the other 13 games.It looks like the Broncos are ready to get into the business of roster building for 2019. Bowlen Trust on the grounds that he lacked capacity to create it, and that he was under undue influence when he did.The new filing comes in the aftermath of the dismissal of a legal action previously pursued by Pat Bowlen’s brother, who apparently was acting on behalf of Wallace and Klemmer when questioning the authority of the three trustees who have managed the team since 2013. It is widely believed that 29-year-old Brittany Bowlen unofficially has been selected by the trustees, and that it’s just a matter of time before the selection occurs.“There is substantial and overwhelming evidence that Mr. Bowlen lacked the required capacity in 2009,” the lawyer representing Wallace and Klemmer said in a statement. “As a result, Ms. Klemmer and Ms. Wallace have filed a petition asking the court to decide that issue, the related issue of whether the 2009 trust — which is the document under which the trustees have derived their power and authority — is valid, and whether Mr. Bowlen was subjected to undue influence.”Wallace and Klemmer contend that their father was first diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2006, and that by the time he crafted the current version of the ownership trust in 2009 he lacked the capacity to do so.The stakes are high for Wallace and Klemmer. Without venturing too deeply into the legal weeds, they could end up being completely disinherited by fighting the trust (which may explain why the first lawsuit was filed by their uncle). So they’re risking their portion of Pat Bowlen’s estate in order to challenge the current structure for determining control of the Broncos, in the obvious hopes that one of them will end up in control of the team when the dust of litigation settles.
